Cuba y Rusia amplían cooperación política
Moscú.- El primer secretario de Partido Comunista de Cuba y presidente de la República, Miguel Díaz-Canel, y el presidente del partido Rusia Unida, Dmitri Medvédev, repasaron hoy aquí el avance de la relaciones políticas bilaterales. En el encuentro ambas autoridades destacaron con satisfacción los resultados alcanzados entre las organizaciones políticas hasta la fecha, y las potencialidades de trabajo presentadas para su desarrollo en lo adelante.
Díaz-Canel rinde honores a Fidel Castro en Moscú
Moscú.- El presidente de Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, rindió hoy honores al líder histórico de la Revolución cubana, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), en la capital rusa. Hasta el distrito de Sokol, en Moscú, llegó el mandatario de la nación caribeña con la delegación que lo acompaña en su visita de trabajo al gigante euroasiático para colocar una ofrenda floral al invicto comandante en jefe.
Cuba con mucho que compartir en enfrentamiento al VIH, afirma ONUSIDA
La Habana.- Cuba tiene mucho que compartir con el mundo en el enfrentamiento al VIH, desde la importancia de contar con un sistema de salud fuerte hasta su solidaridad internacional, consideró la directora ejecutiva de ONUSIDA, Winnie Byanyima. En entrevista exclusiva con Prensa Latina durante una visita al país caribeño, la titular del Programa Conjunto de las Naciones Unidas sobre el VIH/sida destacó logros de la isla en la lucha contra esa pandemia, entre ellos el haber sido el primer país del orbe en recibir la validación por eliminar la transmisión madre-hijo.
Presidente del Parlamento de Cuba recibe a homólogo de Türkiye
La Habana.- El presidente de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular (Parlamento) de Cuba, Esteban Lazo, recibió hoy al presidente de la Gran Asamblea Nacional de Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, de visita oficial en la nación caribeña. Kurtulmuş arribó en horas tempranas de este miércoles a la mayor de las Antillas, en respuesta a una invitación cursada por su homólogo cubano.
Acogerá provincia de Cuba cita internacional sobre agricultura
Matanzas, Cuba.- Del 4 al 8 de junio venideros la cubana provincia de Matanzas acogerá El X Encuentro Internacional de Jóvenes Agropecuarios (INTERJOVEN 2024), cita encaminada a debatir sobre el quehacer de las nuevas generaciones en la agricultura. Según informa el sitio www.radio26.cu en el evento se prevé la participación de más de 250 jóvenes de diferentes universidades, centros de investigación y producción de países como Argentina, Guatemala, México, Bolivia, Brasil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Panamá, República Dominicana, Estados Unidos, España, Holanda, Angola y Cuba.
Integran conocimientos para gestionar segundo Geoparque cubano
Santiago de Cuba.- Para satisfacer las necesidades de múltiples mercados turísticos, integran sus conocimientos hoy las entidades locales que gestionan el Geoparque Gran Piedra, segundo de su tipo en Cuba y situado en la suroriental provincia de Santiago de Cuba. Reina Iris Alayo, especialista principal de EcoTur en Santiago de Cuba, explicó a la prensa que desde el punto de vista turístico se secciona el mercado, pero este sitio integra todos los intereses históricos, geológicos, espeleológicos, paisajísticos, faunísticos.
Evento cinematográfico gana espacio en el centro de Cuba
Santa Clara, Cuba.- El X Encuentro de Marketing y Promoción Cinematográfica: Profilms 2024 continúa hoy aquí con el intercambio y promoción entre profesionales, promotores y especialistas del séptimo arte. En el certamen, con sede principal en esta urbe en el centro de Cuba, concursan más de 70 materiales a través de la exposición gráfica, publicaciones impresas y la promoción en radio, televisión y páginas web.
Cuba celebra su Día del Son
La Habana.- Con la alegría que da bailar un género distintivo por excelencia de esta nación caribeña a nivel mundial, se celebra hoy aquí el Día del Son Cubano. Esta celebración que tiene lugar cada 8 de mayo fue una iniciativa promovida por el recordado maestro y músico Adalberto Álvarez (1948-2021) desde el año 2019, para honrar a dos icónicos soneros nacidos este día en esta isla: Miguel Matamoros en 1894 y Miguelito Cuní en 1917.

La Habana.- El IV Torneo Nacional de Baseball5 continuará hoy en la cancha del Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva de esta capital con la presencia de los seis mejores equipos del país. Este es un evento que tendrá mucha rivalidad y será muy competitivo, a partir que se encuentran en sus nóminas varios representantes de los pasados campeonatos del mundo de mayores y juveniles y eso le da un nivel altísimo a la competición, declaró a Prensa Latina Eros Bernal, jefe técnico de la disciplina.
Pícher de Industriales firma juego de cero jit cero carreras en Cuba
La Habana.- La soberbia actuación del lanzador habanero Pavel Hernández, autor del cero jits cero carreras 66 en campeonatos cubanos de béisbol, acapara hoy titulares en la prensa deportiva de la isla. Hernández condujo a Industriales al triunfo por 7-0 ante Holguín ayer en el inicio de la subserie semanal del torneo.
